Our story

Seventy years of homes, one family.

It begins in Montegabbione, just after the war. Today it continues among the villages and towns of Umbria.

1950s

It all begins in Montegabbione

Giuseppe Barlozzini starts selling his first pieces of home furniture, in a village where design was still hard to imagine.

1965

The first showroom

The first Barlozzini showroom opens. Hard work and reliability become the company's hallmark.

1975

A thousand square metres

The showroom grows with a new 1,000 m² building.

1983

Andrea and the culture of materials

His son Andrea joins the business. He inherits his father's passion for furniture and devotes himself to the study of materials. Together with Antonella he will lead the company's growth.

1980s

Perugia

The first showroom in the city opens. Ever since, Barlozzini has been a reference point for anyone furnishing a home in Perugia.

Seven years later

Orvieto, Via del Duomo

A space in the heart of the historic centre opens its doors to clients from all over the world, drawn by Italian design. Today around half of our clients come from abroad.

2021

Italy's first Boffi Studio

Italy's first Boffi Studio opens in Perugia: 300 m², the same format as New York, Tokyo, Shanghai and Oslo.

The Atelier in the heart of Perugia

On 17 August we open our first atelier in Via Cesare Fani: a space devoted to design and research.

Four spaces, a joinery workshop, in-house architects and fitters. And the same idea as ever: to follow every home from the first sketch to the final fitting.

This piece doesn't exist in any catalogue.

In our Lab we design, build and install wooden furniture made for one home only. Woods, finishes and sizes are decided with you; renders and prototypes show you the result before the first cut.

Machines help. Hands decide.

    The drawing

    We start from the real measurements of the house and from your habits. The architect draws the piece; the render shows it in place.

    We choose woods and finishes together, samples in hand, thinking about the light in your home.

    Every panel is cut to size, to the millimetre, in our workshop.
